Accounts Payable Manager – 12‑Month Fixed‑Term (Manchester)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract to lead the AP function of a fast‑growing online activewear brand in Manchester. You will be responsible for maintaining day‑to‑day invoice processing while driving a full transformation of the AP process.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute an AP transformation roadmap, redesigning end‑to‑end processes from purchase order to payment.
• Identify, implement and embed automation and AI solutions such as invoice capture and anomaly detection.
• Act as line manager for a team of four, providing hands‑on leadership throughout the change period.
• Design, document and maintain comprehensive SOPs and governance frameworks for all AP activities.
• Lead stakeholder communication, deliver training and oversee the rollout of approved process changes.
• Maintain BAU operations including invoice processing (≈1,000 invoices/month), payment runs, vendor management and reconciliations.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience managing an AP team in a high‑growth environment.
• Hands‑on expertise with NetSuite or a comparable ERP system.
• Demonstrated ability to lead process redesign and automation projects.
• Strong change‑management and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
