About the role
We are seeking reliable and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistants to provide ad‑hoc support across schools in East London. This flexible, part‑time role allows you to work weekdays around your existing commitments while gaining experience in a variety of special educational settings.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils with SEND, including ASD, ADHD and speech‑language needs.
- Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum through differentiated activities and tailored support.
- Promote positive behaviour, independence, and emotional development.
- Provide support during lessons, break times and other school activities.
- Collaborate closely with teachers and support staff, following individual education and behaviour plans.
- Create a safe, inclusive environment and adapt approaches to each child’s needs.
Required profile
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
- Patient, compassionate, and approachable with strong reliability.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different school environments.
- Confident delivering one‑to‑one or small‑group support.
- Calm and resilient when handling challenging situations.
- Available to work flexibly during the school week.
