Deputy Headteacher – Senior Leadership Role in SEND School

About the role

We are seeking a Deputy Headteacher to join a small SEND trust in Birmingham. This senior leadership position will help shape the future aspirations of the school through strong leadership, clear strategy and high expectations for the children we support.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with the Headteacher to drive standards, culture and long‑term success across the setting.
• Lead and inspire staff while ensuring all actions benefit the pupils.
• Support school‑wide growth, balancing day‑to‑day operational demands with strategic planning.
• Maintain high expectations for pupil achievement and wellbeing.

Required profile

• Leadership experience as a Deputy Headteacher or an aspiring deputy.
• Strong understanding of teaching and learning in the classroom.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with staff, governors, parents and pupils.
• Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).
• Commitment to pupil outcomes and the continued success of the school.
