AI Data Platform Engineer (MLOps)

About the role

BABEL is seeking a hands‑on AI Data Platform Engineer to join a strategic initiative focused on building enterprise knowledge bases, knowledge graphs, semantic layers and LLM‑based solutions for a regulated banking environment. The role involves designing, developing and industrialising reusable components for intelligent exploitation of structured and unstructured data.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement pipelines for knowledge bases, graphs and vector stores.
• Develop APIs and services to expose and consume data through AI/LLM models.
• Integrate structured and unstructured sources such as Data Lakes, S3, SharePoint and FileNet.
• Build Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), semantic search, metadata enrichment and Text‑to‑SQL capabilities.
• Participate in monitoring, observability and production readiness activities.
• Collaborate with architects, data teams and stakeholders in agile environments.

Required profile

• Strong experience with Python and SQL in production settings.
• Background in software, data or AI engineering.
• Knowledge of graph databases and query languages (Gremlin, SPARQL, Cypher).
• Experience building APIs with FastAPI or similar frameworks.
• Hands‑on work with LLM services on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Bedrock).
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL/Aurora performance tuning.
• Understanding of combining SQL, graph and vector search techniques.
• Proficiency with Docker, Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience on AWS and/or Azure, with a focus on scalability, reliability and maintainability.
