Applied AI Engineering Coach (Level 6) – Remote

About the role

Corndel is seeking an Applied AI Engineering Coach (Level 6) to mentor apprentices on its AI Engineer / Machine Learning apprenticeship programme. The role blends deep technical expertise with a passion for coaching, helping learners apply AI responsibly in real‑world business settings.

Key responsibilities

• Coach and mentor a caseload of Level 6 AI Engineering apprentices.
• Deliver 1:1 coaching, workshops, and group learning sessions.
• Support learners across the full machine‑learning lifecycle, from problem scoping to deployment and monitoring.
• Guide apprentices through End Point Assessment (EPA) and portfolio development.
• Promote responsible AI practices, including ethics, security, and governance.
• Collaborate with employers and internal teams to ensure high‑quality learner outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an AI Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, or Data Scientist.
• Hands‑on experience building and maintaining production ML systems.
• Strong passion for coaching, mentoring, and developing others.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• scikit‑learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow.
• Pandas, NumPy.
• Hugging Face or other generative AI tooling.
• Understanding of MLOps concepts.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• SQL.
