Area Business Manager – Birmingham & Wolverhampton

About the role

Veolia is seeking an Area Business Manager to lead its Birmingham and Wolverhampton depots. The role will drive operational excellence, business growth and customer service across a portfolio of commercial waste customers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop Business Managers and work with Commercial Managers to execute the commercial strategy.
• Maximise profitability, ensure safety and compliance, and deliver first‑class customer service.
• Develop and implement short‑ and medium‑term strategies for the area, engaging stakeholders at all levels.
• Prepare annual budgets, forecasts and business models, and report performance transparently.
• Deliver operational efficiencies through digital systems, asset utilisation and cost control.
• Support net sales growth for the region and promote innovation to meet market and legislative changes.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading and managing commercial waste businesses.
• Track record of driving transformation and change initiatives.
• Strategic thinker with solution‑focused and creative approach.
