Aspiring Psychologist – SEN Teaching Assistant (London)

About the role
We are seeking an Aspiring Psychologist to join a specialist special school in Tower Gateway, London, as a SEN Teaching Assistant. This position offers hands‑on experience supporting children with complex additional needs while you build a foundation for a future career in psychology, educational psychology or mental health.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one support for pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and other additional needs.
- Assist small groups with learning activities and classroom engagement.
- Support teachers with lesson delivery, classroom management and behaviour regulation.
- Monitor and record pupil progress and help with transitions and unstructured times.
Required profile
- Undergraduate or recent graduate aspiring to become a psychologist.
- Passionate about child development and SEN support.
- Patient, empathetic and resilient.
- Experience in a school, care or youth setting is desirable.
Required skills
- Ability to follow structured guidance and record keeping procedures.
