Assessment Centre Coordinator (Fixed-Term)

About the role

We are looking for an Assessment Centre Coordinator on a fixed‑term basis to manage the end‑to‑end bus driver assessment process. You will be the first friendly voice candidates hear, the welcoming face on the day, and the trusted guide through assessment to onboarding.

Key responsibilities

• Contact candidates before assessment centres to confirm attendance, timings and requirements.
• Attend each Bus Driver Assessment Centre in person, greet candidates and set clear expectations.
• Coordinate all assessment activities, including literacy testing, drug & alcohol testing, practical driving assessments and medical examinations.
• Liaise with assessors, trainers and medical teams to ensure smooth, compliant delivery.
• Communicate outcomes to candidates and support successful applicants through onboarding, induction and start‑date arrangements.
• Maintain and update the recruitment tracking system (DTS) to keep candidate progress on schedule.
• Collect, validate and organise compliance documentation such as right‑to‑work checks, licences, medical results and assessment notes.
• Provide regular attendance and pass‑rate data to the Talent Acquisition Business Partner.

• Calm under pressure and able to manage live, multi‑stage assessment activities.
• Proactive, solutions‑focused and adaptable to changing situations.
• Trustworthy when handling sensitive personal and medical information.
• Team player comfortable working across recruitment, training and operational teams.
• Willingness to travel across South (Kent, Essex, Bedfordshire) and Midlands (East and West) regions; company car provided.
