Assistant Traffic Engineer (Level 3)

About the role

The Assistant Traffic Engineer will join Bristol City Council's Transport Service, supporting the delivery of traffic and transport projects that improve road safety and promote sustainable travel across the city.

Key responsibilities

• Support the delivery of traffic and transport schemes, producing technical reports, maps and drawings.
• Carry out surveys, inspections and technical assessments for project sites.
• Assist with public consultations and respond to enquiries from residents, stakeholders and elected members.
• Collaborate with colleagues and partner organisations to achieve project objectives.
• Contribute technical expertise to develop transport solutions for Bristol.

Required profile

• Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in transport, traffic engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Organised, analytical and able to communicate technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
• Understanding of Transport Service projects, policies and legislation.
• Ability to manage own workload and work collaboratively on projects that benefit local communities.
