Audit Senior / Assistant Manager

About the role

Join a respected multi‑office accountancy practice as an Audit Senior/Assistant Manager within their corporate team in Birmingham. You will lead audit assignments from planning through to completion, delivering high‑quality work for a diverse client portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and finalise audit engagements, ensuring compliance with professional standards and deadlines.
• Prepare audit files, statutory accounts and related compliance documentation.
• Identify audit risks, liaise directly with clients and provide value‑adding recommendations.
• Supervise, mentor and review the work of junior team members.
• Collaborate with managers, partners and other corporate team members on cross‑functional projects.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified (or close to qualification) with relevant UK accountancy practice experience.
• Recent experience leading audit assignments and reviewing junior staff work.
• Strong knowledge of UK auditing standards, financial reporting and accounts preparation.
• Excellent communication, organisational abilities and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with audit and accounting software such as Inflo.
