Auto Electrician – Motorsport & High‑End Vehicles

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Auto Electrician to join our rural headquarters overlooking mountains and sea. The role focuses on high‑end bespoke cars, Mk1 & Mk2 Escorts and performance vehicles, delivering end‑to‑end electrical architecture from custom loom design to final safety checks.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and install motorsport‑grade wiring harnesses to Raychem/DR‑25 standards.
• Configure and troubleshoot CAN‑based systems, including standalone ECUs, power distribution modules and digital dashboards.
• Diagnose complex electrical faults using multi‑meters and specialist diagnostic software.
• Set up and calibrate sensors and safety systems prior to vehicle delivery.
• Install specialised equipment such as fire‑suppression systems, radio communications and immobilisers/trackers.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of automotive electrical experience, preferably in a dealership or high‑end restoration environment.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Logical, first‑principles approach to problem solving.
• Meticulous attention to wire routing and workspace organisation.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of CAN protocols, bitrates, terminating resistors and DBC file handling.
• Expert‑level crimping with professional‑grade DTM/Mil‑Spec connectors.
• Proficiency with multi‑meters and advanced diagnostic software.
• Ability to read, interpret and create electrical schematics.
• Experience designing and installing Raychem/DR‑25 wiring harnesses.
