Automation Test Lead – Retail Technology

About the role

Legal & General is seeking an Automation Test Lead to join its Retail Technology team. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing quality across a diverse technology landscape, ensuring reliable, customer‑focused solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of automated testing across multiple concurrent initiatives.
• Design, configure and maintain scalable, robust automation frameworks.
• Collaborate with engineers, product and delivery teams to align testing with user stories and risk assessments.
• Drive continuous improvement by evaluating and adopting new automation tools and techniques.
• Produce clear reporting on test progress, coverage and outcomes.
• Coach and mentor colleagues to build automation testing capability.
• Identify opportunities to increase automation value in Agile and DevOps environments.
• Champion quality, customer outcomes and conduct risk in all testing activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading or delivering test automation in complex delivery settings.
• Familiarity with automation tools such as Selenium, Cucumber or Protractor.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control tools like Jenkins and GitHub.
• Understanding of modern testing approaches, including BDD and TDD.
