Blender Generalist

About the role

Framestore is seeking a versatile Blender Generalist to join its Visual Development team in London. You will work across the full 3D pipeline, turning early concepts into high‑end, photorealistic assets that guide the look of major film and episodic projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop photorealistic assets – creatures, characters, environments, and complex FX – from blockout to final frame.
• Model, sculpt, UV, shade, texture, light and render within Blender, handling any pipeline stage as needed.
• Create look‑development and lighting setups that meet photoreal standards, using Blender’s node system.
• Utilise procedural and node‑based workflows such as Geometry Nodes and simulations to iterate quickly.
• Collaborate with supervisors and the Head of Department to ensure smooth hand‑off to production pipelines.
• Document and communicate technical processes clearly for artists and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with Blender across modelling, sculpting, UVs, shading, lighting and rendering.
• Strong visual background with a portfolio demonstrating composition and photorealistic quality.
• Solid understanding of film VFX pipelines and virtual cinematography.
• Ability to work independently and solve complex visual challenges.
