Brokerage Assistant – Children’s Finance (Temporary)

About the role

This temporary position supports the Brokerage and Finance Business Intelligence Officer within Children’s Services. You will help ensure smooth financial administration while working mainly from home with one day per week in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Provide integrated financial administration for Children’s Services, adhering to financial frameworks.
• Process timely payments to providers, suppliers and staff.
• Reconcile service‑based systems with the Council’s general ledger.
• Assist with procurement card management and collate data for service grants.
• Monitor service requests and ensure prompt resolution.

Required profile

• Strong numeracy and effective communication skills.
• Commitment to delivering excellent service to internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience in a financial environment.
• Willingness to attend occasional evening meetings.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel, including macro development.
• Familiarity with ContrOCC or Oracle Fusion systems.
