Building Surveyor – Home Based (Birmingham)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to work from home, covering Birmingham and surrounding areas. The role involves a mix of contract administration, site inspections, quality management and client liaison within the public housing sector.

Key responsibilities

• Act as Contract Administrator and prepare specifications and schedules of work.
• Conduct site inspections, quality management and attend/manage site meetings.
• Perform cost control, design coordination and CDM Consultant/Principal Designer duties.
• Carry out Party Wall Act surveys and property surveys.
• Provide management and mentoring for a small team of surveyors.

Required profile

• RICS or CIOB accredited construction degree.
• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience, chartered or working towards chartership.
• Experience in new build and refurbishment projects within the public sector.
• Proven ability to manage teams and deliver client‑facing services.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK as required.
