About the role
Join the streetlighting department at Kier in Birmingham, where you will help maintain essential highway infrastructure. You will work on footpath excavations, back‑filling and reinstatement, ensuring safety and quality standards are met. The role offers a supportive team environment and opportunities for professional development.
Key responsibilities
- Undertake excavations in footpaths, including track work and joint holes.
- Assist with back‑fill and reinstatement of excavations to meet quality standards.
- Complete documentation to comply with health & safety and NERS requirements.
- Support the team as a safety assistant for live LV cable jointers.
- Drive works vehicles and follow HSG47 safety protocols.
Required profile
- Previous experience with excavations and understanding of HSG47.
- Knowledge of streetlighting civils tasks.
- Qualified NRSWA operative.
- Full driving licence.
- Enjoy collaborative work and building relationships across teams.
