Building Surveyor (Subsidence) – Birmingham

About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor specialising in subsidence to work from home while covering the Birmingham area. You will provide expert surveying services for domestic and commercial insurance claims, assessing properties affected by subsidence and supporting fair claim resolutions.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver professional subsidence and building surveying services for domestic and commercial insurance claims.
• Attend sites to carry out technical assessments and investigations of subsidence‑related damage.
• Manage a personal portfolio of claims, ensuring service level agreements and business goals are met.
• Diagnose structural issues, determine causes, and specify technical and insurance requirements for reinstatement.
• Collaborate with policyholders, insurers, loss adjusters, local authorities, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records in the claims management system to ensure transparency.
• Support colleagues across the UK and contribute to a shared expertise culture.

Required profile

• Prior experience in subsidence investigations or loss adjusting.
• Professional qualifications such as MRICS, MCIOB or C.BuildE are desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent customer service orientation and organisational ability.
