Business Development Coordinator

About the role

The London office of a leading US law firm is building a new Business Development & Marketing team. As a Business Development Coordinator you will provide a generalist BD service across the firm’s UK and international offices, reporting to the Business Development and Marketing Manager and supporting the newly appointed BD Director.

Key responsibilities

• Support the full proposal lifecycle: analyse requests, schedule proposals, draft and edit documents, and track outcomes.
• Write and edit copy for capability statements, case studies, bios and client communications.
• Maintain proposal records, gather pitch feedback and produce post‑pitch analysis.
• Research client targets with the BD Manager and lawyers, coordinate with the competitive intelligence team and execute acquisition plans.
• Collaborate with partners and senior BD staff to align opportunities with firm strategy.
• Update and develop content for the firm’s proposal generator system and promote best practices.
• Produce regular reports on BD activity and manage directory submissions, awards and publications.
• Create event and marketing mailings and support industry sponsorships and client entertainment.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of experience in a business development or bid‑management role, preferably within a law firm or professional services organisation.
• Strong academic background and relevant qualifications.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a tight‑knit, fast‑moving team.
