Business Development & Projects Executive

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious Business Development & Projects Executive to join the Visitor Economy team of the West Midlands Growth Company. In this role you will help drive business tourism activity across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands, supporting major events and contributing to the region’s visitor‑economy growth.

Key responsibilities

• Support initiatives that attract meetings, conferences, exhibitions and other business events to the region.
• Assist in the coordination of strategic programmes, sales missions, familiarisation visits and the Conference Ambassador Network.
• Provide operational support to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and on schedule.
• Liaise with industry partners, local authorities and other stakeholders to maximise visitor‑economy impact.
• Help prepare reports, data analysis and communications related to business tourism programmes.

Required profile

• Highly organised and proactive with a strong interest in business tourism and events.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic, multi‑disciplinary team.
• Motivation to contribute to the economic development of the West Midlands.
