Buy to Let Underwriter – Bespoke

About the role

Buy to Let underwriting goes beyond numbers – it requires a deep understanding of the deal, the property, the borrower and the opportunity. West One Loans is seeking a detail‑oriented professional who can use sound judgement to deliver the right lending solutions while keeping risk at the forefront.

Key responsibilities

• Enter and update borrower data on the Fusion lending platform and ensure all loan details meet underwriting guidelines.
• Assess mortgage applications against the company’s underwriting criteria and risk appetite.
• Provide concise updates to brokers and proactively chase outstanding requirements.
• Prepare credit papers for presentation to the Credit Committee.
• Maintain strong relationships with brokers, solicitors and other third‑party suppliers.
• Conduct AML, KYC and Customer Due Diligence checks in line with regulatory and internal policies.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of FCA regulation and experience underwriting Buy‑to‑Let mortgage applications.
• Flexible, articulate and well‑organised with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Fusion lending platform.
• Knowledge of CeMAP (desirable) and FCA regulatory requirements.
• Experience performing AML and KYC compliance checks.
