Buyer – Commercial Procurement (Hybrid)

About the role

Yorkshire Water is looking for a Buyer to join its Commercial – Operations team. The role will support the transformation of the business by managing the procurement of a portfolio of goods and services, ensuring value for money and compliance with regulatory thresholds.

Key responsibilities

• Lead procurement activities for goods and services at non‑UCR 16 / Procurement Act 23 threshold levels.
• Work independently or as part of project teams to source, negotiate and contract suppliers.
• Manage supplier relationships and monitor performance against contracts.
• Ensure procurement processes align with commercial strategy and regulatory requirements.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and drive value for customers.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a procurement or buying role, preferably within a regulated environment.
• Good understanding of UK procurement legislation and thresholds.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of cross‑functional teams.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
