Buyer – Procurement & Supply Chain

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Buyer to join a well‑established manufacturing business in Greater Manchester. The role focuses on sourcing, negotiating and managing supplier relationships to deliver value and efficiency across the supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Manage procurement of raw materials to meet operational requirements.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to achieve cost savings.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues to maintain strong relationships.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
• Analyse market trends and identify sourcing improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal teams to forecast demand and manage stock levels.
• Prepare and present procurement reports to stakeholders.
• Support implementation of sustainable and ethical sourcing practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience in purchasing or procurement.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management abilities.
• Good understanding of market trends and supply‑chain dynamics.
• Analytical and problem‑solving mindset.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
