Calibration Engineer – UKAS Laboratory (Birmingham/Bristol)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Calibration Engineer to join our UKAS‑accredited laboratories in Birmingham (with opportunities in Bristol). You will perform calibrations and measurements following UKAS and customer‑specific procedures, ensuring all work is fully traceable and auditable.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out calibration of measuring equipment across disciplines such as dimensional, mechanical, electrical DC/LF, temperature, torque, pressure and mass.
• Apply UKAS calibration procedures and traceable methods to meet customer specifications.
• Maintain accurate, auditable records of work, data and results using the Indysoft database management system.
• Ensure compliance with BS EN ISO 17025 and other relevant standards.

Required profile

• Previous experience working in a calibration laboratory.
• Knowledge of UKAS standards and BS EN ISO 17025.
• Technical qualification (e.g., HNC, NVQ/BTEC) or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency with Windows operating systems and Indysoft software.
• Ability to work in a customer‑focused, team‑oriented environment.

• Indysoft calibration software.
• Windows OS proficiency.
