SME Operator

About the role

The SME Operator will support the Quality Management team in meeting site KPIs and project goals while ensuring strict food and feed safety and legal compliance. You will lead technical areas such as microbiology, audit programmes and innovation projects, and act as a core team member covering QA Team Leader routines when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Support systems to ensure compliance with EHS, Food/Feed Integrity, GMP, HACCP, product integrity, legality and quality standards.
• Participate in third‑party audits (FEMAS, BRC) and internal VPO audits.
• Lead quality innovation and improvement projects from a quality perspective.
• Serve as single point of contact for Brewing and Packaging Quality, Food/Feed Safety, Microbiology and Phys‑Chem.
• Drive PDCA cycles to improve QC KPIs such as microbiology, consumer complaints, sensory and phys‑chem results.
• Write, manage and train SOPs for your area of expertise.

Required profile

• Entry‑level candidate with a background in food safety, microbiology or a related scientific discipline.
• Ability to work collaboratively within the QA team and cover QA Team Leader duties when required.
