Category Manager

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious, commercially‑minded Category Manager to join our Procurement & Supply Chain transformation journey. You will own key spend categories, develop multi‑year strategies and deliver tangible value through smarter sourcing and supplier partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end tendering, negotiation and contract award processes for assigned categories.
• Achieve annual savings targets while enhancing supplier quality and delivery performance.
• Develop and execute category strategies that reduce cost, mitigate risk and drive innovation.
• Manage sustainability requirements, supporting Science‑Based Targets initiative (SBTi) goals.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and ensure compliance with procurement processes and systems.

Required profile

• 5+ years of strategic procurement experience within a category management model.
• Degree‑educated preferred; CIPS qualification desirable.
• Proven track record of running complex, multi‑stakeholder tenders with strong commercial and quality evaluation.
• Excellent negotiation skills and confidence influencing within matrix organisations.
• Proactive, resilient mindset with a clear ambition to drive change.
• Knowledge of logistics and supply chain operations; waste industry experience is a plus.
