Chartered Town Planner – Planning & Development Projects

About the role

Our client, a respected independent planning and architecture consultancy, is seeking a Chartered Town Planner to lead a diverse portfolio of planning projects. You will work on residential, commercial and mixed‑use schemes across urban and rural settings, including sensitive Green Belt sites.

Key responsibilities

• Manage planning applications and appeals from appraisal through determination.
• Prepare high‑quality planning statements, reports and supporting documentation.
• Liaise with clients, local authorities and key stakeholders.
• Represent clients at committees, hearings and public inquiries.
• Support business development by identifying new opportunities.

Required profile

• MRTPI qualified (or working towards qualification).
• Experience in a planning consultancy or local authority environment.
• Strong report writing and communication abilities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Proactive, collaborative team player.

Required skills

• Planning legislation and policy knowledge.
• Preparation of planning statements and appeal documentation.
• Stakeholder engagement and negotiation.
