CI & Business Improvement Manager – Aerospace Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking an experienced CI & Business Improvement Manager to lead operational enhancements within a sheet‑metal aerospace manufacturing facility in Greater Manchester. The role is hands‑on, based on the shop floor, and involves analysing current processes, identifying waste, and delivering practical improvements that boost productivity, quality and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate opportunities to improve manufacturing processes and workflow.
• Lead and coordinate continuous improvement (CI) projects from concept through implementation.
• Collaborate with senior management, production and engineering teams to deliver measurable gains.
• Analyse methods, recommend more efficient ways of working and monitor progress.
• Support and champion lean manufacturing and 5S initiatives across the plant.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to guide improvements.
• Report CI performance to senior leadership and ensure activities comply with safety procedures.

Required profile

• Strong engineering or manufacturing background, preferably in aerospace or sheet‑metal production.
• Proven experience leading continuous improvement initiatives in a factory environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Commitment to high safety standards and 5S practices.
