Civil Litigation Solicitor

About the role

We are seeking a Civil Litigation Solicitor to join our growing firm, delivering a full range of legal services to individuals and businesses across the West Midlands and nationwide. The practice is known for its progressive approach and commitment to developing talented professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload of civil litigation matters.
• Handle disputes including commercial and residential landlord‑tenant issues, building disputes, debt recovery, contract disputes and general litigation.
• Take client instructions and advise on funding options.
• Respond to client queries by phone and in person.
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders and third parties.
• Undertake pre‑action litigation work.
• Draft and prepare proceedings, pleadings, schedules of loss, witness statements and other court documents.
• Prepare and advise on applications and related documentation.
• Contribute to business development and uphold the firm’s high professional standards.

Required profile

• UK‑qualified Solicitor with at least 2 years post‑qualification experience.
• Strong experience in civil litigation and ability to manage cases independently.
• Good working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules.
• Strong drafting, advocacy and negotiation abilities.
• Excellent client care, communication and organisational skills.
• Advocacy and contentious probate experience is an advantage.
