Commercial Administrator – Payments & Contracts

About the role

This position supports the end‑to‑end processing of Applications for Payment (AFP) within a high‑volume housing and construction environment. You will ensure contractor claims are accurately reviewed against the Schedule of Rates and contractual terms.

Key responsibilities

• Log and analyse contractor claims line‑by‑line, checking compliance with SOR V6 and contract agreements.
• Perform desktop quality checks using contractor systems, reports, photos and quotations.
• Validate payments and make decisions on complex, contract‑sensitive matters.
• Process cost variations through CRM and housing management systems.
• Maintain accurate financial records for 50‑60 work orders per week.
• Collaborate with senior colleagues to ensure timely and precise processing.

Required profile

• Experience in commercial processing, contract management or financial analysis, preferably in housing, construction or repairs.
• Strong analytical ability and confidence making decisions under pressure.
• Familiarity with Schedule of Rates and contractual documentation.

What we offer

• Full‑time temporary contract until March 2027.
• Weekly pay at £23.62 per hour.
• Initial week of office‑based training, then one office day per week (Thursday).
