Commercial Claims Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Claims Manager to lead a high‑performing claims team for an established insurance business. The role focuses on developing talent, driving performance and ensuring exceptional service delivery across multiple locations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of Claims Executives and Handlers.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, 1‑2‑1s, coaching sessions and development planning.
• Manage recruitment, succession planning and skills development initiatives.
• Oversee efficient handling of commercial claims and maintain high‑quality client service.
• Drive operational excellence through process improvement and use of management information.
• Collaborate with HR, Learning & Development, Broking, Client Service and Operations.
• Handle client complaints and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Support implementation of business strategy, policies and operational objectives.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years’ leadership or management experience in commercial insurance claims.
• Proven track record of motivating and developing high‑performing teams.
• Strong knowledge of commercial claims handling and general insurance principles.
• Experience using MI, reporting tools and performance data to drive decisions.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Collaborative, hands‑on leadership style.
• CII qualification (or actively working towards it).
