Commercial Lawyer - In-House Risk

About the role

This position is for an experienced Commercial Lawyer to join a prestigious global in‑house Risk team in London. You will work at the heart of a world‑renowned law firm, collaborating with international colleagues and senior business partners on a wide range of legal, ethical and strategic matters.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate complex client‑facing contracts and commercial agreements.
• Advise senior partners on contractual risk and provide pragmatic solutions.
• Collaborate with Finance, Information Security and other departments to ensure compliance with internal policies and ethical standards.
• Identify contractual risks, develop mitigation strategies and support compliance audits.
• Maintain and improve contract templates, playbooks and process documentation.
• Supervise administrative staff and promote knowledge sharing across the Risk function.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a commercial lawyer, preferably in‑house.
• Strong ability to work collaboratively in a supportive, cross‑functional environment.
• Passion for drafting and negotiating complex agreements.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive risk‑management initiatives.
