About the role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Property Solicitor with a strong interest in agricultural law to join a leading Cumbria‑based firm. The role offers a mix of high‑value property transactions and rural land matters, providing a balanced professional and lifestyle experience.

Key responsibilities

• Advise landowners, farmers and rural businesses on agricultural land sales and acquisitions.
• Handle commercial property transactions, including leases, purchases and disposals.
• Manage a diverse caseload independently, from initial client briefing to completion.
• Provide counsel on farming‑related property issues and rural development projects.
• Collaborate with senior partners to support the firm’s succession planning and business development.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales.
• 3‑5 years post‑qualification experience in commercial or agricultural property law.
• Proven ability to manage matters autonomously.
• Commitment to long‑term growth within a close‑knit team.
