Commercial Contracts Associate (2-6 PQE)

About the role

This is an opportunity to join a leading national law firm with a highly regarded Commercial team that sits within a broader Commercial, Regulatory and Data practice. The team advises public and private sector organisations on strategically important commercial contracting matters across sectors such as technology, manufacturing, retail, energy and the public sector.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on a broad range of commercial contracts, including supply and services agreements, technology and intellectual property agreements, framework agreements and strategic partnering arrangements.
• Draft, review and negotiate complex commercial agreements.
• Support clients across both public and private sector organisations.
• Assist with commercial contract due‑diligence exercises as part of wider corporate transactions.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through direct contact.
• Collaborate with colleagues across national commercial and sector‑focused teams.
• Support business development activities and contribute to knowledge‑sharing initiatives.
• Manage competing priorities and deliver high‑quality legal advice within agreed deadlines.
• Continue developing technical and commercial knowledge through training and practical experience.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with experience handling commercial contract matters.
• Demonstrated experience advising on commercial contracts.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and written communication skills.
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of clients' business objectives.
• Ability to build effective relationships with both clients and colleagues.
• Proactive, self‑motivated approach with strong organisational skills.
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to learn.
• Ambition to develop a career within a growing national commercial practice.
