Commercial Underwriter – Manchester

About the role

Join a leading insurance provider’s Manchester Centre of Excellence as a Commercial Underwriter. You will manage broker relationships, drive renewals and ensure compliance with underwriting appetite and Treating Customers Fairly principles.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain effective broker relationships while meeting renewal service levels.
• Review, trade and invite renewals across all product lines within the company’s underwriting appetite.
• Handle renewal queries, mid‑term adjustments and cancellations accurately and on time.
• Manage large renewal cases over £5,000 and act as a referral point for Underwriting Assistants.
• Contribute to process improvements and support corporate goals.

Required profile

• Minimum two years’ experience in commercial underwriting, preferably property and casualty.
• Strong commercial underwriting knowledge with excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Self‑motivated, professional and able to work effectively within a team.
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines under pressure.
