Community Mental Health Nurse – East Dunbartonshire

About the role

The NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is recruiting a Community Mental Health Nurse to join the East Dunbartonshire Mental Health Team. Based at the Kirkintilloch Health and Care Centre, the role works Monday‑Friday, 09:00‑17:00, delivering community‑based mental health care and conducting domiciliary visits across East Dunbartonshire.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the Named Nurse/keyworker for a defined caseload within a multi‑disciplinary team.
• Carry out holistic assessments, risk evaluations, and develop personalised care programmes.
• Provide nursing interventions in the least restrictive and least disruptive manner.
• Promote physical and mental wellbeing, addressing health‑promotion and self‑management needs.
• Identify and respond to issues such as vulnerability, domestic abuse, child protection, and self‑harm.
• Build therapeutic relationships with patients and carers, respecting equality, dignity and cultural diversity.
• Participate in case‑load supervision, clinical supervision, mentorship and preceptorship.

Required profile

• Current, active NMC registration (UK PIN).
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Ability to work independently and in partnership with patients, carers and other professionals.
• Experience in community mental health nursing and familiarity with legislative frameworks and clinical policies.
