Community Nursery Nurse – Band 4 (12‑month fixed term)

About the role

The Community Nursery Nurse will join the Tweeddale & Eildon Health Visiting Team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, covering maternity leave. Working 36 hours per week across Galashiels and Haylodge Health Centres, you will support families with children aged 0‑5, promoting health, wellbeing and reducing inequalities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide parenting support and health promotion to families with young children.
• Collaborate with the health visiting team to meet unmet health needs.
• Deliver advice on healthy development and early years care.
• Travel between Galashiels and Haylodge sites and within the Scottish Borders as required.
• Cover maternity leave duties while maintaining continuity of service.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic, motivated and flexible approach to work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to supporting vulnerable families and reducing health inequalities.
• Legal right to work in the United Kingdom.

Required skills

• Community nursing experience with children aged 0‑5.
• Knowledge of health promotion and early years development.
