Complaints and Information Governance Officer

About the role
This position is responsible for managing a wide range of complaints and information governance enquiries within Children’s Services. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure statutory compliance and high‑quality service delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Handle corporate, school, statutory social‑care, Ombudsman, ICO, Freedom of Information, Data Protection and Member enquiries.
- Lead one or two designated areas such as Complaints, FOI, Data Protection or Member Enquiries.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with service areas and partner agencies.
- Stay up‑to‑date with relevant legislation, policies and protocols.
- Provide professional advice and guidance to stakeholders.
Required profile
- Experience in complaints handling and information governance within a public‑sector or social‑care environment.
- Good understanding of legislation such as the Data Protection Act and Freedom of Information regulations.
- Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
Required skills
- Knowledge of information governance frameworks.
- Familiarity with data protection and FOI processes.
