Complex Care Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate Complex Care Assistant to support a client with a spinal cord injury in their home environment. The role involves providing specialised medical care during scheduled shifts, ensuring the client’s comfort, safety, and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Manage tracheostomy care, including routine cleaning and monitoring.
• Operate and monitor ventilator equipment as required.
• Provide PEG (percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy) support, including feeding and tube care.
• Perform suction and cough assist procedures to maintain airway patency.
• Assist the client with daily activities and support their personal interests such as blogging and watching TV.

Required profile

• Previous experience with tracheostomy management.
• Ability to work confidently and compassionately in a home‑care setting.
• Willingness to undergo full nurse‑led training.
• Reliable and able to work the specified shift pattern.
