Compliance Manager (Evaluation)

About the role

The Compliance Manager (Evaluation) will join the Gambling Commission’s Compliance team, translating regulations into practical actions and ensuring the gambling industry adheres to licence conditions. Working on a hybrid basis, you will spend one day a week in the Birmingham office while supporting a portfolio of GB licence holders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate compliance assessments for large, complex online and land‑based operators.
• Develop and monitor a schedule of visits for the larger operator programme.
• Analyse data on high‑risk operators to identify emerging compliance issues.
• Produce evaluation reports, present findings and recommend corrective actions.
• Identify and prioritise risks to licensing objectives and the Commission’s reputation.
• Support raising‑standards initiatives and ensure consumer protection remains central.
• Assist with resource planning and allocate compliance resources to the highest‑risk areas.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead complex regulatory assessments and manage multiple engagements.
• Strong knowledge of the gambling sector, including online and land‑based environments.
• Up‑to‑date awareness of technology and mobile trends affecting gambling operators.
• Excellent analytical skills with the capacity to interpret large data sets.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management, acting as a single point of contact for licence holders.
• Ability to work autonomously, prioritize risks and drive improvement actions.

• Fixed‑term contract (18 months) at Grade 12, salary £42,000 per annum.
