About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Regulatory Engagement and Reporting team in a leadership role at the heart of compliance. As the Compliance & Reporting Manager you will shape key compliance activities, including SMCR oversight, regulatory reporting, horizon scanning and regulatory change management.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the subject‑matter expert for general compliance, regulatory reporting and horizon scanning.
- Lead the oversight and delivery of SMCR compliance processes and maintain governance records.
- Develop and maintain a horizon‑scanning framework to identify emerging regulatory changes.
- Manage regulatory change activity, ensuring changes are identified, assessed, tracked and implemented.
- Coordinate preparation and submission of regular and ad‑hoc regulatory reports with appropriate governance.
- Produce clear management information and reporting for senior management and committees.
- Support responses to regulatory requests, reviews, consultations and investigations.
- Maintain compliance risk profiles and oversee assigned compliance controls.
- Build strong relationships with regulators, industry bodies and internal stakeholders.
- Lead and develop team capability while promoting a strong culture of compliance.
Required profile
- Significant experience within a compliance, risk or regulatory environment.
- Strong knowledge of FCA regulations, SMCR requirements and regulatory reporting obligations.
- Experience in regulatory change management, horizon scanning and regulatory engagement.
- Proven people‑management experience with the ability to lead, coach and develop others.
- A compliance qualification or equivalent professional qualification.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to provide practical regulatory solutions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills, confident to influence at all levels.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high‑quality outputs under tight deadlines.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a proactive problem‑solving approach.
- Experience producing regulatory reporting and management information for senior stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the motor finance sector is advantageous.
