Contentious Probate Litigation Solicitor (NQ – 5+PQE)

About the role

Our client, a top‑tier law firm recognised by The Legal 500 and Chambers, is seeking a dedicated Contentious Probate Litigation Solicitor to join its Birmingham office. The role involves handling a full spectrum of probate disputes for both private individuals and corporate clients.

Key responsibilities

• Report directly to the Department Director and manage a varied probate caseload.
• Handle all aspects of contentious probate work, including inheritance claims, proprietary estoppel, will disputes, executor removals and devastavit claims.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior team members when required.
• Undertake advocacy, attend client meetings, take instructions and prepare case files.
• Manage correspondence, maintain accurate time‑recording and implement supervisory recommendations.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with NQ to 5+ years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in contentious probate.
• Strong client‑care skills and a sensitive, sympathetic approach to client needs.
• Ability to manage complex cases and work both independently and as part of a team.
