Contracts Delivery Manager

About the role

Join SSE as a Contracts Delivery Manager and lead the delivery of critical overhead network projects up to 132kV. You will coordinate external contractors, ensure safety and quality, and drive project outcomes that support the nation’s energy infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor contractor work for safety, compliance and quality standards.
• Manage multiple projects from initiation to completion, focusing on cost, timing, and process.
• Track daily progress, resources and maintain clear communication with contractors, internal teams and stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate project records, ensure contractor training and authorisation, and support team wellbeing.
• Identify improvement opportunities, manage budgets efficiently and drive productivity gains.
• Oversee 132/33kV tower painting activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience with 132kV overhead line towers and hands‑on technical knowledge.
• Strong background in contract partner management and on‑time project delivery.
• Good understanding of DNO operations, revenue models, price‑control frameworks and regulatory compliance.
• Confident stakeholder engagement and clear communication at all levels.
• Practical, commercially‑minded team leader with IT proficiency and ability to align plans with customer needs.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel across multiple locations.
