Credible Specialist for GCSE Computer Science

About the role

Pearson Edexcel is seeking a Credible Specialist to support its GCSE Computer Science qualification. The role is ad‑hoc, approximately two days per month, and involves providing expert guidance to centres across the North West.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver centre visits, Zoom and telephone support to guide new and existing centres through the GCSE Computer Science qualification and associated materials.
• Create teaching and learning resources for the Pearson website within the specialist’s title.
• Attend stakeholder meetings, events and senior‑team briefings to advise on training materials and support resources.
• Run online, network and twilight events for GCSE and A‑level audiences.
• Engage with teacher groups on social media platforms, acting as the voice of Pearson Edexcel.
• Provide subject expertise and market information to the product team and subject advisor.
• Serve as a role model for outstanding pedagogy in the endorsed title.

Required profile

• Minimum three years’ experience teaching and/or assessing Pearson Edexcel GCSE Computer Science.
• Active practitioner in the subject area, able to represent Pearson Edexcel professionally.
• Willingness to attend a training day with the chair of examiners and complete Pearson’s training course.
