About the role
The Quantitative Research Manager will join the British Council’s Research and Insight function, supporting the design, delivery and analysis of quantitative research that informs strategy and external communications. Based in Manchester (or other UK locations), the role contributes to high‑impact evidence generation across arts, education and English programmes.
Key responsibilities
- Design and deliver quantitative research projects, ensuring methodological rigour and high‑quality outputs.
- Manage existing R&I data sets, curate new data sources and conduct statistical analysis to support team priorities.
- Provide advice and guidance on research design, commissioning and partnership development across the organisation.
- Collaborate with sector research leads and the Evidence, Evaluation and Learning team to enhance data‑driven evaluation of programmes.
- Develop and deliver training, guidance and best‑practice resources for colleagues using quantitative methods.
Required profile
- Demonstrated experience in quantitative research, data management and statistical analysis within a large, multi‑disciplinary organisation.
- Strong understanding of research management processes, ability to communicate findings to non‑technical audiences and influence senior stakeholders.
- Proactive attitude with a track record of delivering high‑impact research outputs and supporting capacity‑building initiatives.
