Curriculum Team Leader – Hospitality, Travel & Tourism

About the role

The Curriculum Team Leader will head a team of academic staff delivering high‑quality, learner‑centred programmes in Hospitality, Travel and Tourism at Bath College. This permanent, full‑time position combines leadership, curriculum development and direct teaching responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, coordinate and develop a portfolio of courses to support learner success and progression.
• Monitor key performance indicators such as attendance, achievement, retention and assessment, and implement actions to improve outcomes.
• Lead marketing and information‑and‑advice guidance (IAG) to recruit learners whose abilities and aspirations match the provision.
• Motivate and develop curriculum staff to deliver outstanding teaching, learning and assessment.
• Implement quality assurance and improvement mechanisms to maintain high academic standards.
• Communicate regularly with staff about college and departmental priorities.
• Collaborate with cross‑college teams to embed essential skills such as maths and English within the curriculum.
• Ensure compliance with college protocols and awarding‑body assessment and verification requirements.
• Deliver high‑quality teaching, learning and assessment across a range of programmes.
• Manage a delegated budget and achieve learner recruitment and income targets.

Required profile

• Degree level (or equivalent) in Hospitality, Travel & Tourism or a related subject.
• Teaching qualification at least Level 5.
• GCSE English and Mathematics at grade 4 or above (or equivalent).
• Recognised management qualification or willingness to obtain one.
• Proven experience leading academic teams and developing curricula.

• Permanent contract – 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.
• Salary range £36,808 – £43,664 per annum.
