Cyber Development Underwriter

About the role

IPS Group is partnering with a major global insurer to launch a new cyber insurance product aimed at UK‑based SMEs. The Cyber Development Underwriter will join a newly created cyber team, helping to shape the offering from its inception and driving growth in the fast‑growing UK national markets business.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite complex SME cyber risks, focusing on businesses with turnover under £100M and an e‑trade platform for those under £25M.
• Develop and maintain strong broker relationships, championing the cyber proposition in every conversation.
• Collaborate with trading and development leads to build pipeline and deliver growth targets.
• Support junior team members and raise technical capability across the team.
• Contribute to the design and launch of the new cyber product scheduled for early 2026.

Required profile

• Proven experience in cyber underwriting, preferably within competitive SME markets.
• Demonstrated track record of successful broker development and relationship management.
• Strong commercial acumen and a results‑driven mindset.
• Passion for cyber risk and a deep technical understanding of the sector.
