Tax Manager

About the role

This newly created Tax Manager position offers the chance to shape a role around your strengths within a fast‑growing, independently owned Manchester tax team. You will work across a diverse mix of corporate and personal tax, handling both compliance and advisory work for owner‑managed businesses and private clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a mixed portfolio of corporate and personal tax clients, ensuring deadlines, quality standards and HMRC compliance.
• Provide clear, practical advice to businesses and private clients, and contribute to advisory and planning projects.
• Oversee and support graduate trainees and intermediate staff, sharing technical knowledge across accounts and tax disciplines.
• Help drive the continued growth and development of the wider tax function.

Required profile

• Qualified tax professional trained at a Top 10, 20 or 30 firm or with an accounts background.
• Desire to work across both corporate and personal tax, compliance and advisory.
• Interest in the stability and culture of an independently owned firm.
