Data & AI Governance Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Data & AI Governance Manager to join our Data & Data Science team. In this role you will ensure that Drax’s data and AI assets are trusted, compliant and used effectively to deliver business value.

Key responsibilities

• Lead data governance across strategic programmes, strengthening practices and managing data and AI risk.
• Develop and maintain frameworks, policies, standards and controls for data and AI governance.
• Support compliance, audit and risk‑management activities and oversee data quality and critical data governance.
• Embed effective governance operating models, roles and responsibilities across the organisation.
• Drive adoption of metadata, data catalogue and lineage capabilities.
• Support AI governance, model oversight and facilitate governance forums.
• Provide KPI reporting and insight to senior stakeholders.
• Promote governance awareness, responsible AI practices and a data‑driven culture.

Required profile

• Strong experience implementing data governance in a complex organisation.
• Good knowledge of recognised frameworks such as DAMA or DCAM.
• Experience developing governance policies, standards and controls.
• Knowledge of data quality, metadata management and data lineage.
• Experience with risk, compliance and audit activities.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence engaging senior leaders.
• Proven ability to deliver outcomes through projects, programmes or business change initiatives.
• Collaborative approach with the ability to influence and build relationships across multiple teams.

What we offer

• Competitive salary up to £78,000 per year.
• Permanent full‑time contract.
• Flexible working arrangement with travel to London, Selby or Ipswich as required.
