Data Architect – Microsoft Fabric Transformation (Hybrid, London)

About the role

We are seeking a Data Architect to lead the migration of our SQL and Azure data estate to Microsoft Fabric. This hybrid London‑based position blends strategic architecture, stakeholder collaboration, and hands‑on design within a large‑scale data transformation programme.

Key responsibilities

• Design conceptual, logical and enterprise data models.
• Define and promote data architecture standards and best practices.
• Create and maintain data architecture roadmaps.
• Map data flows, lineage and system interactions across the business.
• Support the migration to Microsoft Fabric, shaping architecture, modelling and governance.
• Collaborate with Data, BI, Governance and Technology teams.
• Produce architecture documentation, models and design artefacts.
• Champion architecture frameworks and educate stakeholders.
• Influence technical decisions and help steer the data strategy.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Data Architect or senior Data Engineer with architecture exposure.
• Strong understanding of conceptual, logical and physical data modelling.
• Experience with data mapping, lineage and enterprise data governance.
• Knowledge of modelling methodologies such as 3NF and Kimball.
• Hands‑on exposure to SQL, Azure and modern cloud data environments.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services or comparable cloud platforms.
