Data Engineer – Azure & Microsoft Fabric

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our growing data platform team in Manchester. The role focuses on building and maintaining Azure‑based pipelines and integrations that power analytics and operational systems across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable ELT/ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Microsoft Fabric.
• Implement medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) across the data platform.
• Build reliable ingestion from APIs, databases, flat files, and event streams.
• Support master data management, data quality rules, and golden record definition.
• Work hands‑on with ADLS, Azure SQL, Event Hubs, Delta Lake, and OneLake.
• Design integration patterns and REST APIs for near real‑time data flows.
• Contribute to infrastructure‑as‑code and environment provisioning in Azure.

Required profile

• Solid hands‑on experience in data engineering, pipelines, ETL/ELT and data modelling.
• Strong experience with Azure Data Factory and interest in Microsoft Fabric.
• Practical understanding of medallion architecture and data governance.
• Ability to write Python and/or SQL for transformations and quality checks.
• Experience designing API integrations and working with event‑driven patterns.
